Great Bay Hold

	Holder Byn Colors: Bright red and sea-blue Emblem: Per Pale bright red and sea-blue, with a half circle of sea-blue centered and adjacent to the sea-blue. Beholden: Ierne Weyr Status: Minor Hold NPC Location: On the coastline of the Great Bay, across from Ierne Island.

Great Bay Hold lies on the shore of the bay across from Ierne Island, and was founded by Lord Toric during the Ninth Interval. When Ierne Weyr was opened its loyalty was transferred from Southern to Ierne, the tithes now needing to travel across the bay and not half way around the Southern Continent. Great Bay is famed for its shellfish: particularly for Spiderclaws and Oysters, which are plentiful in the nutrient-rich waters. Herdbeasts are also numerous, wandering freely around the high cliffs that surround the Hold.
Holder Byn:	Byn learned by bitter experience to trust no man and as such is highly suspicious of attempts by Ierne Weyr to extend a hand in friendship. He is exacting in his tithes but his attitude clearly speaks that he is not interested in developing any relationship with any other Hold or Weyr beyond the bare minimum needed to keep trading routes open. Despite his tendency to be insular, those within his hold and surrounding cotholds speak well of the man and are strangely protective of him. Byn has never married but is grooming a young cousin, Granan, to be his heir.
