A deep crescent of the water in Monaco Bay was the perfect spot for a harbor and a new Hold in the Ninth Interval. Master Idarolan of the Seacraft, established it for passage between the Northern and Southern Continent. The new wharf is in much the same location as the original, some pilings remaining, and is situated at the eastern top of the crescent. It is a thriving trade center, known for its Shipfish, Spiderclaws, sunny beaches, farms, plains, friendly folk, and legendary relations with the Harper Hall. Home to the Hazzards and Gideons (as well as many others), the Hold has a family atmosphere.

| Holder Mikaial: | Monaco
Bay Hold, as a prosperous, oft-traveled-to Hold, was hit exceptionally
hard by the disease, not surprising when one considers its proximity
to Landing and the number of ships that were coming in and out of
it's port. Holder Mekhin, and his wife, Liali, both died, leaving
behind no successor. Mikaial, who was then serving as Steward, was
selected for the position rather suddenly, as there had long lingered
suspicion that he was the child of Mekhin, by Risaila -- a Hold Healer
who had frequently been observed interacting intimately with the Holder,
many Turns ago. The notion was only strengthened by the incredibly
physical similarity between Mikaial and the Holder, as well as the
considerable favor Mekhin showed his alleged son, when he appointed
him to the Steward position. Despite the questionable nature of his
appointment as Holder, Mikaial has performed brilliantly within the
role -- seemingly, all the time he spent in the late Mekhin's company
has paid off. His nature is reserved, thoughtful, structured, organized,
and fiercely dedicated. Far from possessing a temper, he is calm and
collected, and exceptionally intelligent. Although he often seems
cold or distant, in truth he is a considerate Holder, ruling with
both logic and subtle kindness. He has a rather dry sense of humor,
and is quite confident in everything he does. Few question that his
actions as the Hold has once more begun to prosper beneath his controlled
and orderly rule.
Much like his father Mikaial has sandy-brown skin, moss-green eyes, and a mop of glossy black curls which crown his skull. He is moderately attractive, though a bit severe and intimidating in stature and appearance. The Holder stands at a 5'8", but is nonetheless quite striking, for he is always dressed in tasteful, crisp and formal garb, and his frame is well muscled and solid. |
