Jayge Lilcamp of Paradise River Hold, his trader kin, and a number of dragonriders surveyed the land that would become South Bend Hold during the Ninth Pass. It was built in the Ninth Interval and runs along the eastern bank of the Paradise River from the bend that marked the end of the river to the stream's origin. The new Holders were a large, extended family group that came from Keroon and they brought a number of crafters with them to create a viable thriving Hold. This fertile farmland has abundant crops of corn, barley, oats and hops. A small number of Vintners, more interested in fermenting beers than wine, have recently begun producing ales of the finest quality.
Holder Urruk:	Descended from a long line of proud Vintners, Urruk is a man of few words and much talent. Having accepted the training offered by his family members, he has not only perfected the family recipe for dark ale, but created his own brew of light as well, a hobby that has served him well and his Hold well. Urruk keeps busy overseeing the breweries and managing the budgets, seldom performing the manual tasks involved in making the hops these days, as Hold matters have become more pressing with the approach of the Pass. Although many died of the disease, he counts himself lucky that most of his direct family survived. His work is also aided by his two sons, Ruken and Utanak, and his young daughter, Eanna, who, since her mother's death from the disease does remarkably well in handling the domestic issues of the Hold. It is said that Urruk keeps a few runners and is wild about betting on local races, something, along with the drinking, that has become more prevalent in the Turns since his wife's death. Urruk is ruddy and handsome with a flashy smile and brilliant brown eyes. His hair is a mix of rich brown, flaming auburn and wistful grey. He has a kindly face with a cleft chin and cheeks covered in youthful freckles that also reappear on his arms. Urruk is a tall man, appearing to be slightly over six feet tall with broad shoulders. He bares the mark of a heavy drinker -- a gently rounded belly that pushes out his tunic and looks to be supported by his thick leather belt. He wears a thin tunic of light blue fabric over brown pants and simple boots, not a man of many frills. His shoulder proudly bears the knot of South Bend Hold. The strands of golden yellow, white and peridot green are laced with silver, showing it to be a minor Hold.
