Holder Mykan

Colors: Sea-blue and bright green.
Emblem: Per Chequy of sea-blue & bright green.

Beholden: Southern Weyr
Status: Minor Hold

NPC
Location: On the shores of the Sparta River.

Located on the fork of the Boca/Island River named the Sparta River, Thessaly was given Hold status during the last Interval and named after it's founder. The Sparta River is known to overflow, particularly during the wetter, winter months, and the Thessaly Holder's make use of these by growing crops that like water, including River grains. They also grow specific river grasses and rushes which the Weavers use for mats and mattresses. They have little livestock, but do seem to have the ideal place for fowl, particularly water fowl, to raise in small numbers.

Holder Mykan: Mykan took the position of Holder at Thessaly after the death of his father and his two elder brothers from Nemar's disease. He is steadfast, resolute and dutiful, a fact noted by many during the disastrous months of the disease and the Turns following. He took swift action to secure the Hold as much as was possible, and was the first in the area to cremate his dead: his eldest brother the first, a hard decision to make for the siblings were close. Although supplies dwindled Mykan's effective management ensured no one went hungry. Since then, Mykan's taken to doting on his mother, who survived, and his younger sister and brother. Recently he married the Hold's Healer, Alyana, who he became close to when she stepped up to competently manage the infirmary after the death of the Hold's resident Master Healer. Alyana and Mykan appear to be well matched, and she has already given birth to the first of his children. Mykan is receptive to changes within the Hold, and is always open to discussions with the Weyr about how to improve relationships.

Mykan stands around 6ft tall, and is neither stocky nor thin in fact he's pretty much of average physique. His hair tends towards the blonde in the hot Southern sun, although the underlying brown can generally be seen.
