Founded on the northeast shores of the Caspian Lake, Xanadu Hold was founded in the shadow of Xanadu Weyr during the Ninth Pass. As the Weyrs expanded, tithes were needed and an enterprising family from Rubicon River traveled downriver, settling on this location with its expansive prairie and farmland. In the distance, the ever-present chimney of the Weyr can generally be seen from all around the Hold. During the Tenth Interval the Farm Craft moved from their now small, cramped quarters near Honshu Weyr to Xanadu, taking advantage of the fertile soil. Indeed, many say crops from Xanadu have a unique taste.
Holder Ruana:	The beauty and abundance of Xanadu Hold is echoed in the proud stature and porcelain fine features of Holder Ruana., widow of the late Holder, Etann. Though new to the pressures of her solitary position, Ruana has risen to the challenge and has the support of many caring and hard working Holders to assure that things at Xanadu continue to run smoothly. Special care is taken to produce and send the best tithe possible to the Weyr, under whose smoking presence Holder Ruana and those she cares for can work and rest in relative safety. Ruana is quiet and serene, with an abundance of drive and determination. She is currently seeking to remarry, though her heart aches for Etann. Their only child, young Eanna is an ethereal shadow at her mother's side. With pale skin and white-blond hair, Ruana is a delicate figure with a look of serene beauty and eerie frailty. Her chiseled face and vivid blue eyes are regal and her posture, impeccable. Standing around 5'6" with long, slim limbs and a rather plain torso, this woman's beauty lies in her graceful movements and attractive face. Ruana's expression is naturally stern, yet almost loving. Wrapped in gentle pastels of pink and blue, Ruana bears the soft look of spring flowers. Her dress is light and airy, but comes down nearly to the floor and bears full sleeves. Simple jewels gather the fabric here and there, lending a flicker of more vibrant beauty to the simple sparkle that is Ruana.
