Search

Each Weyr shall be held responsible for its own Search cycle, the managing and planning thereof, and the organization of its own Hatching and Candidate period. There are, however, a few rules that have been designated as MUSH policy by the Weyr Council and must therefore be adhered to by any Weyr on the game; the Weyr Council reserves the right to make further rulings as it sees fit.

Players are encouraged to have only one rider character on SouCon MUSH. They can, however, reImpress provided they adhere to the following rules.

1. If a player has previously impressed on SouCon MUSH, they must ask for permission from the Weyr Council before they are eligible for Search, regardless of whether or not they still ride said Dragon(s). The Weyr Council requests that the names of the previous alt(s) be noted in this +mail, so they may judge the eligibility of the request according to this news section. If the player has previously asked for permission, they must do so every time they wish to apply for Search on SouCon MUSH.

2. Permission for reImpression will not be granted to any player who has impressed on SouCon MUSH in the past RL year. If a player previously had a rider character on SouCon MUSH who has idled, died, transferred or in any other way ceased being active or been given to another player, said player will not be granted permission to reImpress until three months after the time that they were idledested. If said character was idled, traded, killed, et cetera, less than one RL year after impression, the player must wait until at least one RL year has passed from the time of initial Impression.

3.Presently, neither Southern nor Ierne Weyr allow any player to have two riders at the same Weyr at the same time. Pre-existing players with two riders at the same Weyr will not be affected by this clause, but will be 'grandfathered' into the Weyr. Future leaders may feel the need to revise this policy, so it is still subject to change. For more details, please contact the Weyr in question.

4. In the event that a current rider applies for reImpression and the question of that rider's activity (or lack thereof) arises by any member of the Weyr Council, a vote will be taken among Weyr Council members to decide whether that person is currently eligible for reImpression. All votes held in abstention will be considered 'not idle' votes. Should the current rider be deemed idle, the Weyr Council will request the person reapply in six months time, at which point the issue of idleness will not be a factor in deciding eligibility for reImpression.

5. Players who would like to be considered for reImpression should note that the Weyr Council does not take requests for reImpression if the Hatching at the 'home' Weyr has not been completed. Players should check the application procedure regarding reImpression requests for the Weyr at which they are interested in reImpressing.

6. Stand Only Candidates can elect to change to full Candidate status during Search. The Weyr in Search will announce to its Candidates and applicants when the cutoff date is to change status. Candidates who wish to change status and need Weyr Council approval must submit their application no later than two weeks and 1 day before that date to accommodate Weyr Council voting.

7. Players who have a visitor's status for a rider character will not be allowed to reImpress at the Weyr to which they are visitors. If a player transfers to a visitor at another Weyr or transfers the character to another Weyr, said player must wait at least 6 RL months from the date of the transfer and at least 1 RL year from the date of initial impression to apply for reImpression at the same Weyr.

8. Applicants for Search are asked if they share their connection with another game player. This information is to be kept confidential between the Weyrleaders of the Weyr in which they are applying and the Weyr Wizard of SouCon MUSH. If any conflict between this connection and Weyr Council rules exists, the Weyrleaders may use their discretion in discussing it with other members of the Weyr Council who are bound to confidentiality.

9. Prospective Candidates will be asked on their Search application if they have read this news file. Players who fail to comply with the policy outlined here will be subject to the following:

a) Applicants will not be Searched.

b) Candidates will be removed from candidacy, and will not be allowed to apply for Search until one more cycle has passed. If they were not eligible because their impression was less than one year ago, they will have to wait one year, and one search, to apply again. They may also be sitebanned at the discretion of Weyr Wizard.

c) Characters who have impressed, will have their Dragon go NPC, the means by which will be discussed with the Weyr Wizard and/or Weyrleaders. Characters may also be asked to transfer, or go NPC, or other actions may be taken at the discretion of the Weyr Wizard and/or Weyrleaders.

10. All Impression lists must be approved by the Weyr Wizard to ensure clutch color compatibility.
